1. Who is Linda Miller?
A mom first to triplets who are now in colleges all over the country, a wife to an awesome human being, and the Founder & CEO of PUREROSY. Daughter to European immigrant parents, born in a diverse and vibrant town in Montreal and raised in Queens, New York.
2. How do you define fashion and or style?
My fashion style is apparel with clean lines, rich colors, defined by shape not pattern. I love to mix designer brands that I have had in my closet for years with a new trend currently happening on the streets. As a New Yorker, I wear way too much black and grey, but I love to layer that with a touch of the color of the season.
3. What influences your style? ie travel, work, movies, magazines, social media trends, celebrities, color, etc.
Nowadays, I find that all the influences are coming from what I see on social media. I am always in the know at any given moment. I open up my phone and scroll through some of my favorite and inspirational accounts of people who love fashion as much as I do. I am also deeply impacted by colors everywhere I go. Sometimes it will be in a restaurant that has this moody vibe or people I see on the streets in NYC that dare to wear something completely unexpected yet so ahead of the trends.
4. How has your style evolved?
Well, you can only imagine that if you lived in one of the NYC boroughs as I did growing up, there are so many cultural styles influencing you everyday. I think that I always loved clean and minimalist clothing even as a child, but I could still look at the outfits that let’s say Cher wore, and think wow, now that's cool. I am still a minimalist at heart but there has to be an element of pop or the unexpected in my clothing and sometimes that may be a sexy bra under a somewhat sheer-ish top.
5. What does your dream wardrobe consist of?
My dream wardrobe will always have key pieces from Miu Miu clothing, jackets and bags, with some classic Prada items, and Reiss for work attire. That being said, I love many Italian brands because they really align with my aesthetics. As for shoes, Jimmy Choo or Italian shoes any day!
6. If you were to give fashion advice to your younger self what would it be?
The fashion advice I would give myself is to not be afraid to color outside the lines. Trends are born out of imagination and creativity so have some fun with your personal style. Try some things out of your comfort zone and see how they feel.
7. How important is it to be body positive and to appreciate the skin that you're in?I wish there would be more focus on this when we are children and then maybe we would not grow up thinking there is just one right way to look. I love people that have a look that is different from most people we come across in our day-to-day life, and sometimes they shine so much more brightly because they are really comfortable and confident in who they are.
8. What do you love about jewelry? What is your absolute favorite is it earrings, necklaces, etc.
I love this question! I wear very little jewelry. A simple platinum wedding band, and all the rest is costume. I have one leather necklace with a bronzed pendant that I have had for years. I never wear earrings and even if I wanted to, my holes have closed. I love lots of bracelets that dangle and make noise from beaded to leathers.
9. How do you incorporate accessories and jewelry into your daily looks?Much depends on how I may feel more than what I am wearing. Sometimes I feel like I need a little decoration but sometimes my clean, go-to look will want for nothing more than just the clothes to speak about my mood.
10. What are your non-negotiables... What must you have / wear / do? and what are your, “I’m never ever doing or wearing that”?
Well, I guess right now that would be anything with shoulder pads or overalls. They just don’t have a place in my closet and probably never will.
11. Tell us why you choose fashion and style. So what we mean by that is, we don’t have to dress up, we don’t have to adorn ourselves with jewels and embellish with accessories, but we do, we choose to… why do you?
Fashion and style give people a glimpse into how I feel that particular day. I may be feeling bold, or maybe “girly” can we still use that term?—Mostly it gives me confidence in the way I want to communicate with the outside world.
12. What’s your favorite fashion/style quote or mantra?Less is more!

Perfectly said, Linda. You don't have to look just like everyone else to be beautiful. When you're confident in yourself, others will notice the beauty in that. Thanks for sharing part of your journey with us.
