1. Who is Evonya Easley?
Evonya Easley aka “Love E” - the E is for Evonya and Love is for the gift of style that I have and for my love of style and all things beautiful. When you give a gift you sign it usually with “To: whoever” and “from” or “with love” and “your name." I am giving my clients the gift of shining with confidence and style, hence my tagline “From Me to You, Love E." I empower my clients to show up as their most confident selves to accomplish all of their personal and professional goals.
2. How do you define fashion and or style?
Style is a way of speaking without saying a word. I believe in letting my wardrobe do the talking, and when I do speak, it all matches up. I love bold and vibrant colors and details which match my personality. So I dress like who I am as a person- full of energy and charisma.
3. What influences your style? ie travel, work, movies, magazines, social media trends, celebrities, color, etc.
I love to travel around the world, and I am so inspired by the sunsets, the culture, and people and experiences I have had. I have been to all of the fashion capitals: Paris, London, Milan, Dubai, Greece, Singapore, and more. I always find a great piece to add to my wardrobe, so not only do I have a souvenir, but one I can incorporate into my wardrobe. Also inspired by art and museums, other stylists, by designers from the Fashion week shows, and all things beautiful.
4. How has your style evolved?
As I continue to grow my style has become more polished, but still showcases who I am. I will never lose my love of color and statements, but now I don't feel the need to wear a stiletto with every look lol. I have incorporated cute sneakers and bold flats adding some more comfortable, but still stylish pieces into my wardrobe. My look consists of pieces that are colorful, flattering to my figure, and are on my grown woman vibes. :)
5. What does your dream wardrobe consist of?
My dream wardrobe would consist of all of my favorite designers and being able to buy any piece I see as soon as it is available, right off the runway lol. Some of my fav designers are Jacquemus, Hanifa, Johanna Ortiz, Andrea Iyamah, Andrea Pitter Campbell Gucci (the Tom Ford era,) and really too many more to name. I love to support women and minority woman owned brands as much as possible, for me personally and when I shop for clients.
6. If you were to give fashion advice to your younger self what would it be?
I look back at some of my pictures and am like "what was I thinking lol," but at the same time style is about exploration, figuring out what works and what doesn't. As we evolve as people, our style should evolve as well to reflect where we are in life now. So I would tell my younger self to enjoy all the crazy looks, your style will get better as well as your budget to buy better quality pieces. :)
7. How important is it to be body positive and to appreciate the skin that you're in?
As I always say, "Confidence is the most important part of your wardrobe," and sometimes your wardrobe will give you the confidence you don't always feel. I use my wardrobe to exude the confidence I feel within, but I also use it to help others and my clients feel the same. Style has no size! I dress clients from 0-28, and they all look good. You have to dress for the body you have and love it. Find the designers and stores that celebrate it, and that is what I do when I shop.
8. What do you love about jewelry? What is your absolute favorite is it earrings, necklaces, etc.
I love how jewelry can take a simple look or casual look and elevate it. Just by changing accessories, you can go from day to night or desk to dinner. My favorite accessories are my signature E necklace and a pair of custom made earrings from one of my many designer friends and vendors. Also love my diamond rose gold right hand ring and my diamond ring from my travels in Greece, love to mix the fun jewelry with my fine jewelry to make a look all my own.
9. How do you incorporate accessories and jewelry into your daily looks?
I love playing with bold colorful big statement earrings that go with my shoes, bag or pulls one detail out of my outfit. I.E. if there's a palm tree print on my outfit, I have palm tree earrings I can wear to highlight that detail. I love details and coordinating a detail from my outfit into my accessories.
10. What are your non-negotiables... What must you have / wear / do? and what are your, “I’m never ever doing or wearing that”?
I have to have a great shoe, handbag, and accessories with every look. I love a high low mix to make the overall total look feel and look polished and stylish. I am not a fan of wearing anything boring, I mean a plain look from head to toe. Every outfit needs a little something whether it'd be a statement necklace or top or some fabrication and texture in the dress or bottoms. Life is too short to wear boring clothes. I believe in making everyday your runway, your life is a special occasion enough to dress for it!
11. Tell us why you choose fashion and style. So what we mean by that is, we don’t have to dress up, we don’t have to adorn ourselves with jewels and embellish with accessories, but we do, we choose to… why do you?
I saw what the power of style has done for me personally and professionally. We live in a visual world, light travels faster than sound so people see you before you speak. I believe in showing up how you want to be seen and dressing how you want to be addressed. Confidence is the foundation of a great wardrobe, and sometimes you have to gain that confidence from the outside in a great outfit that fits and flatters you and makes you look and feel more confident.
